Sometimes it is the most unexpected events that make one very thankful that they had foresight, engaged in careful planning, and considered contingencies from day one; because, as we learned on what was to be the eve of the launch of this new website, business crises can sometimes take the most unexpected forms. Very early in the morning of February 3, our offices in Broadway were destroyed by an explosion in a business suite located underneath us. Although we were extremely fortunate not to have any serious injuries among our staff, another occupant of the building was unfortunately seriously injured; at the time of this writing, he is still hospitalised with extensive burns, and likely faces a very arduous and lengthy recovery. This individual certainly belongs in our thoughts and prayers.

Speaking from the perspective of Net Logistics, it almost goes without saying that with a sudden loss of corporate headquarters, contingency plans must be put in place immediately, client service must be maintained, and product support levels must be restored to normal as quickly as possible. That we were able to effectively and efficiently accomplish those goals is something that exemplifies the value of our approach to business. That our clients -- without exception -- completely understood the dramatic and traumatic situation, exemplified something moreimportant . It reminded us that despite all the technology -- all the servers, all the networks, all the wiring, all the software -- we are still fundamentally a human business, empowering human goals, human dreams, and human ideas. Technology may be the means by which we accomplish our "magic," but it is altogether meaningless if it is separated from the human context that is spread across the entire spectrum of our business.

From that basis, I invite you to browse our brand new website -- although released a few days later than expected, in a totally different environ than expected, I think it accurately represents what NL has become: an Australian leader in web hosting, always cognisant of the human side of ensuring what we like to call Hosting Confidence, and recently reminded just how fragile our collective human experience can be.
