Basic security and firewall guidance
Security is a priority for everyone. We offer basic guidance on security issues on a case-by-case basis, such as configuring port-based firewall rules, setting custom ports for hosting services and restricting access to your server. We support APF on cPanel Linux servers and Windows native firewall on Plesk Windows servers.

Ping checks
Our monitoring systems regularly check whether a server responds to ICMP echo request packets. All monitoring performed is done as a courtesy to our clients and is for our internal reference only.

Basic service port monitoring
Our monitoring systems regularly check the connectivity of some core service ports of a server, such as port 80, 443, 21, 25, 110, 143 and 53. The ports being monitored can vary depending on the operating system and the control panel of the server. Port 143 is not monitored on Windows servers by default. All monitoring performed is done as a courtesy to our clients and is for our internal reference only.

We can reset the server root/administrator password on your behalf provided the server is virtualised, the virtualisation layer is maintained by Net Logistics and a control panel was installed by Net Logistics.

Control-panel account migration
Assistance on migrating a hosting account between servers may be provided as long as the move occurs between servers with the same operating system and control panel. This service can only be done within Net Logistics’ infrastructure and is currently only available on Linux servers with cPanel.

Migrating hosting environment from one older major version of the OS to a newer version
We can help you keep your hosting services running in an up-to-date OS environment via control panel migration. This only applies to migrations that are within Net Logistics’ infrastructure and assistance is provided on a case-by-case basis.

Server migration within Net Logistics
Assistance on migrating a virtualised server instance from one physical node to another may be given, provided the virtualisation layer of both nodes is maintained by Net Logistics and both are using the same virtualisation software. This may be required if the client wishes to upgrade to better hardware or in the event of hardware failure.

Automatic server image backup
Server image backups provides more effective and efficient disaster recovery. Please note all automatic server image backups performed by Net Logistics are done as a courtesy and are for Net Logistics’ for internal use only.
